Romans 8:26 – When You Don’t Know What To Pray

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” ~ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

There are times when my heart is overwhelmed, and I do not know what words to pray. This verse has brought comfort to me, many times over the years! Our relationship with God, through faith in Jesus, guarantees that the Holy Spirit is with us. What a reassurance we have, to know that the Holy Spirit is interceding on our behalf, and when we don’t have the right words or even know how best to pray, He is bringing our prayers to God, in a language too deep for words. The next time you feel weak and without the right words, take comfort in the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit. What a blessing!
