Mark 6:3-5 – Known At Home
“Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” Â And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.“
Mark 6:3-5 ESV
Becoming a believer can be a difficult thing around friends and family who know you. These folks were there when you messed up in life. They have a hard time believing in a change they don’t understand or believe. This is why it is important to fellowship With believers and be encouraged. When Jesus has made you into a new creation, and those same friends see you continue to live life loving God, them, and others the way Christ does, they will recognize the reality. The hope is that the Lord is using you in their lives to see the hope that is in you. If you’re a new believer, I encourage you to stand firm in your faith. Jesus Will never leave or forsake you.
