Sticks and Stones

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:29‬ ‭ESV‬

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. This chant was heard on the playground often when I was a child, but nothing could be farther from the truth! I’m guilty at times of letting my words get a bit careless. I’m a work in progress. This verse, though, is such an encouragement to me! It’s a perfect guideline for how I can bless others with my words, instead of tearing down. You see, whether we are talking to or about someone, our words should be filled with grace. As you go through your week, I encourage you to find ways to bless others through your words! Let us build up and serve, through even our speech.
