1 Peter 1:23‭-‬25

“since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.”

1 Peter 1:23‭-‬25 ESV

I needed to look up perishable seeds. Turns out seeds just don’t last. Different seeds are good for different amounts of time. But, in this scripture, those of us that have trusted Jesus have been born again from a seed that has no decay. It’s always good. It never fails. I think of when Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well and said he was like a living water. Like a spring. Always flowing.

This entire scripture is reminding us that nothing about God is withering away. His Word, Jesus, and His words to us, are for eternity. We can always count on the Word of God and THAT is the good news that was preached to us!

That’s also the good news that we preach to others! It has no end until Jesus comes back to take us to heaven!
