The Splendor of the King

“Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.”

~ Psalms 96:6

This week like many has brought struggles and challenges in my life and I’m sure in your own. Yet as always The Lord has brought me through them by His grace and mercy. Because of this, I was brought to a place of just being thankful that I have a savior that I can turn at all times to guide me through life.

As I was thinking I was listening to one of my favorite songs. “How great is our God” by Chris Tomlin. The song has always been such a beautiful proclamation of really how wonderful our God is. Lyrics like “splendor of a King, clothed in majesty” or “He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide” paint us an amazing picture of the God we serve.

In His splendor and majesty we should never take for granted how awesome He truly is. It should be an excitement that burns in us knowing that we serve the God that is powerful enough to create the universe, but also loving and merciful enough to die for our eternal life. He truly portrays what the song describes as “the Lion and the Lamb.” I know there are times that we can all become complacent in our behaviors, whether in how we follow Him or in worship. This is natural and the epitome of human nature.  I say this to say that I want to be on fire for Christ. I want to see his splendor and majesty and shout to the world- How Great Is Our God!!!
