Use Your Pain

The Power of Your Testimony

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. Revelation 12:11

Have you ever really considered how important your testimony is when overcoming the devil?

I was baptized as a teenager, and one of the first true convictions I had was to give my testimony to the church youth. (I had grown up with an abusive, alcoholic father. My parents divorced when I was 10, and my dad passed away when I was 15.) I remember so clearly God wanting me to speak to other teenagers about my experiences. He wanted me to trust that someone else needed to hear it.

After years of trying, my husband and I had to battle through the painful process of infertility. We tell everyone, that although this was a very difficult time in our lives, it drew us closer to one another and much closer to God. God was faithful to us and Friends, I feel a deep conviction about this! If I don’t let people know what God did for me in the dark days of my life, how He never left me, how He carried me, then all the many struggles of my life have been in vain.(And ultimately blessed us with triplets!)

I want to help win this war against Satan, and if I’m willing to speak up, then maybe others will see how Jesus helped me to overcome, and they too will turn their eyes to the Lord. I want my life to be a testimony to the amazing love and power of Jesus. When something happens, I pray, “Dear Lord, how do you want me to use this event to bring glory to you?”

So, now I challenge you: What is your testimony? What is Jesus asking you to share in order to bring Him the glory? We must be willing to speak, to have our testimonies heard, so that others will learn from it and draw closer to God.
